Senior Project Manager - based on site with largest client, Kimberly Clark Europe (Reigate, Surrey).

Working as an implant project manager (one of two) within Kimberly-Clark Europe’s Infant & Childcare Marketing department project managing all Huggies nappies and wipes packaging for Europe.

Responsibilities include:

  • Project management of all KCE Infant & Childcare packaging projects from design concept to final packaging delivery adhering to specific brand guidelines and delivery dates (approx. 600 SKUs per annum).
  • Communication at all management levels, with UK based function, mills and worldwide regions, plus their nominated printers, suppliers and design agencies.
  • Oversee all cost estimates issued by JGA team to ensure accuracy and issued to agreed KCE KPI target.
  • Ongoing process-improvement work within JGA.
 
Philips DAP: Amersfoort, Netherlands.

Traffic Manager Packaging - Men's Shaving & Grooming: August 2004 - February 2007

Working within the Marketing Communications department within Philips DAP (Domestic Appliances & Personal Care). Working with Philips' state-of-the-art digital proofing and project management tool.

Responsibilities included:

  • Responsible for project-managing all shaving and grooming packaging projects for Philips globally (this accounts for 50% of the business of Philips DAP).
  • Liaising with production sites, Philips Design, Product Management and the markets.

Achievements included:

  • Improved efficiency of processes and therefore reduced costs
  • Established clear and regular channels of communication with the major production sites
  • Improved accountability for stake holders through improved communication (project status reports).
 

Berri Ltd. : Melbourne, Australia.

Project Manager - Marketing:         September 2001 - November 2001 (contract position)
(The market-leading brand producer of fruit juice in Australia).  Was a key member of the G7 (Generation 7) juice product launch team.

Achievements included:

  • Was personally responsible for co-ordinating launch events across the states, liaising with the sales teams and production facilities.
  • Was instrumental in establishing links between Berri and the state education departments and paving the way for the G7 school dance programme being implemented nationally.


O'Connell Marketing Recruitment: Amsterdam, Netherlands

Office Assistant: January 2004 - August 2004 (contract position)

Main responsibility: to organise and manage a special promotional event for the company. The theme was "Marketing Across Cultures" and the speaker was cultural "guru" Fons Trompenaar (www.thtconsulting.com).  The day was embellished with activities on an inter-cultural theme and with over 70 attendees, was a huge success.

 

Allied Domecq Spirits & Wine Ltd: Bristol, UK.

Project Implementation Manager: February 2000 - June 2001 (redundancy)

(Then the second largest spirits and wine group globally).

Responsibilities included:

  • Project-managed major re-packaging projects (for the global brands) through from design concept sign-off to global roll-out.  Worked on Ballantine's Finest whisky, Beefeater gin, Laphroaig whisky and Tia Maria liqueur.

Achievements included:

  • Used print production expertise in order to develop and champion a streamlined artwork and proofing management process for use on all global projects.  Gained central approval for this process and then rolled it out to all Allied Domecq major production sites.
Took responsibility for formally reviewing, revising, and then managing the external design and innovation agency roster.  Contracts and prices were negotiated and the services of the new agencies on the roster promoted to the internal market.

Safeway Stores plc: Hayes, Middlesex.                                                                

Category Design Executive: July 1999 - January 2000

Own Brand Executive: July 1997 - July 1999


Responsibilities included:

  • project-managing the Safeway own brand packaging design and branding projects (utilising external agencies). 
  • budgetary responsibility for all projects ranging in value from a few thousand pounds up to over £100,000.
  • to be the brand marketing representative within the trading unit.

Achievements included:
  • Initiated and championed the annual NPD plan for the department (something which had not previously existed in a cohesive sense).
  • Developed a tracking system in order to keep track of the 100+ SKUs being worked-on at any one time and issued weekly updates to all interested parties. This had the effect of increasing the profile of the Non-Foods category across the business.
  • Instigated greater marketing support for Safeway own-branded products (which had no marketing spend allocated to them) and routinely put together appropriate on-pack copy.


Additional skills and activities:

  • Languages – Conversational French & Dutch, basic knowledge Spanish.
  • Full clean UK driving licence.
  • Computer literate - competent with MS software and quick to pick up bespoke applications.
